Coronavirus What Greenfingers Charity is doing

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE  1600 hrs 17th March

Following the Government update on 16 March 2020 and the ongoing situation with COVID-19, as a valued supporter we wanted to let you know what Greenfingers Charity is doing.

Firstly the well-being of our staff, volunteers, supporters, contractors and beneficiaries is of the utmost importance to us all at Greenfingers Charity and we are closely following all government and Public Health England advice about COVID-19 in relation to the way we work, our garden projects and fundraising activities.

We are reviewing advice on a daily basis and regularly reviewing our business continuity plan to ensure we can continue to progress garden projects and raise the funds needed to ensure we continue our work, creating magical gardens for life-limited children and families who spend time in hospices.

Our Staff and Volunteers

In line with Government advice, the Greenfingers Charity office is closed and all staff are now working from home.  All business travel has been suspended and meetings are taking place online or over the phone where possible.
You can still contact the Greenfingers Charity team by calling 01494 674749 or by emailing info@greenfingerscharity.org.uk.

Greenfingers Charity Garden Projects
Our priority is of course to ensure the health and safety of all, and whilst we will continue to work on those hospice gardens in the planning stages, we are working closely with hospice care teams to ensure their patients and families are not put at risk.
This will mean that in the short term Greenfingers Charity projects will be delayed and that some work which were due to start in the coming weeks will, we hope.start later in the year or early in 2021.

Our Fundraising activities
To ensure the work of the charity can continue into 2021 and beyond, it is important that our fundraising activities continue wherever possible, without of course compromising the health and safety of our supporters, staff or volunteers.

Whilst there are no current plans to cancel events due to take place later in the year, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Summer Ball which was scheduled to take place in June.   We sincerely apologise to all those who have reserved tickets. We hope to reschedule the event for early 2021.

Your continued support means so much to us and the children and families Greenfingers Charity gardens support, so please do keep us in your minds at what is a very difficult time for all.

With our kindest regards,

Linda Petrons & Sally Jenkins
