Greenfingers Charity is Supporting #ChildrensHospiceWeek

What is Children's Hospice Week?

Children's Hospice Week runs this year from 17 to 21 June. It's an initiative run by Together For Short Lives dedicated to celebrating and supporting the incredible work that goes on at children's hospices around the UK, created for caring for for seriously ill children and their families.

The theme for this year’s Children’s Hospice Week campaign is #MomentsThatMatter – to shine a light on the services that help families create special memories and important moments in their lives together. A theme which has received royal support from the Duchess of Cambridge.

Here at Greenfingers Charity we know the difference that a hospice with dedicated resources, including a magical outdoor space, can make to life-limited children and their families.

Greenfingers Charity is driven by the belief that time spent outdoors, away from the bedside, can offer children and families under considerable stress a vital opportunity to embrace the benefits of being in the fresh air and engaging with the natural environment. We are committed to creating specially designed, stimulating garden spaces that can bring many benefits to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Whilst many people may take for granted the simple pleasure of being able to enjoy a garden, for these children, their siblings and their families, the chance to spend time together outdoors and away from the bedside, to create lasting memories, is precious.
