At work...
Bring your teams together (or encourage a bit of friendly rivalry!) with a floral themed quiz night...
At home...
Invite friends round for a coffee morning, afternoon tea or evening drinks in return for a donation...
At school...
Plan a ‘Floral Friday’ or ‘Go Green’ non-uniform day and ask all pupils (and teachers!) to donate £1 for the privilege...

Some highlights of Garden Re-Leaf Day 2025
If you’re a garden centre or nursery…
…here are some tried and tested ideas to help get you started...
Hold a 12 or 24 hour Plant-athon - This is perfect for generating more stock which you can then up to raise funds. Ask your suppliers to get involved by donating pots, growing media and plants. And then simply plant up as many as you can during your chosen duration and sell them off to boost your fundraising total.
Organise a quiz or bingo night - With a minimum donation for all entrants you will guarantee fun and some friendly competition!
In-store talks and workshops – Do you know a local gardening group, or expert rose grower that could run a special talk or workshop? Or perhaps one of your team is amazing at creating Easter gifts and would run a special session for staff and customers. This is a great way to raise money and showcase in-house skills.
Cake sales and coffee mornings or simply donating from every cuppa sold are easy yet effective FUNdraisers.
Raffles and tombolas are a great way of getting customers involved. Gather prizes from around your store, or ask suppliers, friends and colleagues to donate prizes.
Plant sales – consider a special Greenfingers plant display where a percentage or set fee from each sale is donated to support our work. This is a great way to create a talking point and promote your team’s knowledge and experience.
Team up with colleagues to complete a VIRTUAL walk or cycle challenge. Set yourselves a target – 250 miles for example – and work together to achieve it. Walk around your local area, on a treadmill, or add an exercise bike for an afternoon of cycling excellence, with customers invited to donate by throwing loose change into a bucket or via a QR code. your staff’s confidence.
..or organise an event you know your customers would love to support
Taking part in Garden Re-Leaf Day can help you generate publicity, increase footfall and boost morale, sales and enhance your staff's confidence.
