And if you're still looking for ideas, here are just a few of our favourites…

The Great Garden Re-Leaf Day Walk and Cycle Challenge in the Chilterns

The 2019 Garden Re-Leaf Day Walk and Cycle Challenge starts and finishes in Wendover, Buckinghamshire.

Why not get a team together and come along and meet old and new friends of Greenfingers Charity whilst walking 5, 10 or 20 miles through the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Or if cycling is more your thing, why not take on the 25,50, 75 or 100 mile cycling option? There are lots of opportunities to get involved, even if you're not walking or cycling. We'll need support vehicles, marshalls, refreshments, water stations or just come along to support those taking part. Just make sure to sign up on our site to register for the Walk or register for the Cycle Challenge so that we know you're coming.

If Buckinghamshire is too far to travel, why not organise your own sponsored walk? Several garden centres have done this very successfully in the past and it provides a great team-building day out, with coastal walks and garden-centre to garden-centre walks proving popular. We can provide you with a 'How to Organise a Sponsored Walk for Garden Re-Leaf Day' Pack – contact Mandy or Melanie in the Fundraising Team for details.

Anyone for Chari-TEA?

Baking is as popular as ever and is a fantastic – and delicious – way to raise money! Why not have a cake sale? Or donate 50p from every cuppa you sell in your cafe?

Cake sales, coffee mornings and afternoon teas are all tried and tested fundraising ideas but also a great way to promote your cafe and catering team. Alternative you can come up with your own idea, for example...

  • Holding a Garden Centre Bake-Off Competition
  • Running a promotion for cake and coffee with a donation to Greenfingers
  • Organising a competition eg 'Guess the weight of the cake'

Get Quizzical!

Quiz Nights can be great fun. Why not hold an evening inviting customers, friends or colleagues along? We can even supply a set of Quiz Questions for you to use in part or in full. Obviously it has a green-fingered theme!

Why not boost your fundraising efforts by serving a hot supper or hold a raffle at the same time?

Gardener's Question Time

If you have a local gardening celebrity or expert among your staff, who not invite customers along to a Plant Clinic or a Gardener's Question Time event? In return for a small donation, they can get all the answers to their horticultural questions before the start of the gardening season.

20th Anniversary Spring Planters

Why not plant some special pots in celebration of Greenfingers Charity's 20th Anniversary? Select a planter to upsell, or create your own colourful bedding arrangement using our charity colours of pink, green and yellow. Place the planters near the entrance of your garden centre or nursery – they're sure to be a fabulous gift in time for Mothering Sunday.

The Big Greenfingers Charity Raffle

In 2019, as part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations, Greenfingers Charity is holding a special raffle, supported by National Garden Gift Vouchers. Ticket buyers have the chance to win either £1000, £500 or £250- worth of National Garden Gift Voucher gift cards. Raffle tickets are priced at just £2 each.

The draw will take place in May so that the winners will be able to spend their prize in time for the Summer.

Please do get in touch if you would like to help us sell raffle tickets.

Get Sporty

A sporty fundraising activity is a great way to get fit and raise money at the same time. You don't even have to leave your home or office – an exercise bike, rowing machine or treadmill can work just as well when it comes to setting a distance target. Team bikeathons are popular events, or why not cycle from your Head Office to our Greenfingers Head Office in Beaconsfield?

Go Green 4 Greenfingers

Whether it's painting your nails pr dressing head to toe in green, we would love to see everyone GO GREEN 4 GREENFINGERS on Friday 22nd March! So dust down your finest green clothes, shoes, hats and wellies and make a donation – the wackier the outfit the better! You can even offer a prize, such as a bottle of bubbly, for the most original costume on the day.

Trade Promotions – Trade and Retailers

One easy way to support Greenfingers Charity is to decide on a product to promote and donate a percentage of the sales to Greenfingers. If you are a retailer, make sure you have stocked up on your chosen item. Feel free to contact the Fundraising Team if you would like to set up a promotion or find out about our existing promotions. Here are a few of the products that raise money for the charity:

  • The Floreo range of cards from the Great British Card Compan
  • Sow and Grow Teacups by Ivyline
  • Greenfingers Terracotta Pots from Woodlodge Products
  • Rabbits by Vivid Arts
