Back in Spring 2015 we were delighted to report that Whartons, the UK’s largest rose grower, had decided to support our recent Rosy Cheeks Appeal with a rose, sales from which directly benefited Greenfingers.
The Rosy Cheeks rose was specially selected and grown for us by Whartons and has been on sale in garden centres around the country since March. For every rose sold Whartons kindly donated 50p to Greenfingers.
We are now thrilled to hear that the Rosy Cheeks rose has been a great success over the spring and summer months with Whartons recently donated £3040 to Greenfingers as a result of sales of the rose to date. Thank you to everyone at Whartons for their generous support – we look forward to putting these funds to really good use creating more beautiful outdoor garden spaces for children in hospices.
And don’t forget the Whartons Rosy Cheeks rose is still available, here is a little more information about it… The rose is an easy to grow floribunda. It has red to deep pink flowers of approx. 5cms in diameter, which will repeat continuously from June to the winter frosts, year after year. It grows to approx. 1 metre in height and can be easily pruned back as required in early spring, with shears.
A limited supply of these plants are still available to garden centres in 4.5L pots. An order of 21 plants (a full trolley shelf) is delivered together with an A2 colour Correx poster. Order direct through Whartons on 01379 606 020.
