We are delighted to now be able to unveil the redesign of Matthew Wilson’s award-winning Chelsea Flower Show which will soon take shape at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight.
The redesigned garden for the hospice, which has been reworked to make it suitable for the hospice environment, was unveiled to a select group of supporters who attended a pledge dinner, to raise the necessary funds for the relocation, at The George Hotel in Yarmouth. The new garden will see the majority of the original Chelsea Flower Show garden move to the hospice this Summer – most of the planting, the decking and the beautiful water feature will soon be in place at the hospice, giving the children and families who spent time there a beautiful outdoor space in which to relax and enjoy the natural world.
At the pledge dinner, held in the delightful surroundings of The George Hotel, current Greenfingers Chairman, Matthew Wilson, was on hand to talk candidly about his experience of designing The Royal Bank of Canada Garden and entertaining guests with anecdotes about the trials and tribulations of taking on such a challenge!
Thanks for the generosity of the people at the dinner we are also thrilled to report that all the funds needed to ensure the relocation takes place have now been raised.
