Congratulations to our very own Ollie Tuck and her dad Simon who took part in the first of their BIG September challenges on Saturday 5th September.
The father and daughter team took part in a 10k Wolf Run in Coventry on behalf of Greenfingers which saw them run through mud and ditches to raise funds for us.
Despite the ‘off road’ training that both Simon and Ollie have undertaken, the run, through somewhat messy conditions, was a huge physical challenge for all involved. Each runner had to traipse through waist deep mud, pull themselves over huge obstacles and even swim through a freezing lake to get to the finish. Pretty exhausting stuff so huge thank you to Ollie and Simon for taking part on behalf of Greenfingers!
As if Simon and Ollie’s exploits in the mud weren’t enough they are also set to raise even more money for Greenfingers next monday – they are now looking forward to falling out of a perfectly decent aeroplane in a couple of weeks time as part of the Greenfingers Skydive team!!
Both the skydive and the run will prove a unique challenge for Ollie and her dad. Simon suffers from vertigo whilst Ollie’s biggest fear was facing the freezing swim as part of the Wolf Run. We would therefore like to thank them each for facing their fears on behalf of Greenfingers and wish them the best of luck with the challenges!
