Greenfingers and Honda (UK) launch 'Get Gardening for Greenfingers' school campaign

Honda (UK) and Greenfingers have announced a new fundraising initiative in schools called ‘Get Gardening for Greenfingers’.

 

The campaign, set to kick off in spring 2012, aims to raise a minimum of £15,000 for the first ever ‘Schools Magical Play Garden’ to be built by Greenfingers, as well as promoting gardening in schools and raising awareness of safety in the garden.

 

As part of the ‘Get Gardening for Greenfingers’ fundraising week, children across the country will be sponsored to do a variety of small gardening jobs for friends and family – for example, sowing seeds, tidying up leaves or composting kitchen scraps. It is hoped that over 3,000 children aged 7-11 will take part in the campaign.

 

David Hodgkinson, Marketing Communications Manager for Honda’s Lawn and Garden range, said: “Working with Greenfingers, we’re keen to help schools get involved in gardening and ensure that children know how to stay safe in the garden, while raising funds for this very special garden. Honda is committed to being a partner rather than just a donor so we’ll be actively involved throughout the campaign – our Authorised Dealers will be working with schools and we’re also planning our own fundraising activities for associates at Honda (UK)’s headquarters.”
