
The management committee of Greenfingers is made up of a team of experts drawn from the horticulture and gardening trade who give of their time generously to support the charity both strategically and directly through the campaigns and initiatives.
RICHARD JACKSON, Founder and Chairman
Richard has been part of the horticultural industry all his working life. He set up and ran Camden Garden Centre, an employment and training project for long term unemployed young people as well as other garden centres in London. For the past 15 years he has been a writer and broadcaster, and is guest gardening presenter for QVC.
JOHN LITTLE, Vice Chairman and Treasurer
John is Chairman of Poplars Garden Centre, which over the last 30 years he has built up to become the largest independent garden centre in Bedfordshire and the sixth best in the UK. It has also been judged a Garden Centre of Excellence by the Garden Centre Association.
CHRIS WEBB, Trustee

Chris has over 25 years experience in the horticulture industry and is currently Business Manager at Fulham Palace Garden Centre in London.
PETER FIELD, Trustee
Peter is the Managing Director of Garden Innovations Ltd. and a current Council Member and past President of the Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA).
SUE ALLEN
Sue and her late husband established their Millbrook Garden Centre in Crowborough, East Sussex, over 30 years ago. Sue continues as chairman and is currently the president of the International Garden Centre Association and chairman of the jointly administered GCA Trust and Dick Allen Scholarship Trust.
JOHN TUGMAN
John began his career in the gardening industry in 1993 at Florimex UK. He has been Managing Director of William Sinclair’s Professional Compost and Chemicals since January 2010.
JOHN ASHLEY
John joined the Industry in 1972 and set up the Miracle-Gro business which eventually became part of the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. He now works part time for Scotsdales Garden Centre as well as helping with customer relations for Scotts.
CAROLINE OWEN
Caroline spent a few years away from the family business in the 70’s obtaining a business studies degree and experience working for John Lewis, BUPA and Sainsburys. She re-joined Scotsdale Garden Centre in 1983 and was elected President of the HTA in 2009 and is also Chairman of their Marketing Committee.
TREVOR PFEIFFER
Trevor owns and runs The Garden Communication & Media Company which publishes Garden Trade News, produces Garden Radio and organises major industry events. Trevor has been involved in garden media activities for over 25 years including publishing magazines such as Garden News and The Garden.
