We had a great time launching Garden Re-Leaf Day’s first ever 24 Hour Plant-athon this year so imagine how excited we were for it to receive the Silver Award at GTN’s first-ever Greatest Marketing Awards for The Greatest Marketing Event of the Year!
The 24 Hour Plant-athon launched this year on Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf Day and became one of the leading fundraising events with key members of the garden industry getting on board and taking on the planting challenge to raise valuable funds and awareness for the Charity.
Participants including Bob Hewitt and Andy Bunker took to their planting stations and planted continuously throughout the night documenting the event as it progressed. The Plant-athons were photographed, filmed and tweeted and even a skype conference call arranged so that the plant-athoners could connect with each-other during the event. The fantastic flurry of activity created by the event helped to raise huge awareness for Greenfingers Charity and ultimately resulted in raising valuable funds of around £30k through the Plant-athon alone.
The event was a great success for Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf Day and it was fantastic for it to be recognised at the GTN Marketing Awards last week alongside other brilliant marketing initiatives.
The new awards show, hosted by the HTA’s Carol Paris (above) and GTN’s Trevor Pfeiffer, have been established to recognise excellence in garden industry marketing.
Heather Culpan, managing director at Burgon & Ball who won Silver in the The Greatest Supplier Marketing Team of the Year category, said: “We’d like to thank all at Garden Trade News for organising these tremendous new awards, and of course the many garden centres who voted for us. We are more determined than ever to give our retail partners the tools they need to deliver excellence to their gardening customers.”
We would like to thank Garden Trade News for the award and everyone who helped to make the event such a success. we are thrilled with our award and have it hanging pride of place in the Greenfingers Charity fundraising office!
