As the only children's hospice in Scotland, Rachel House has a great number of children and families to support, and though large areas of land were available to use, not one really served the needs of the children. Hospice staff wanted a ‘wow’ area, designed to catch the imagination of children by the inclusion of sensory features. Water, lights, smells and animal sounds were all added in a woodland area accessed through a gateway.

The design created by Stephen Ogg, a young designer based in the Kinross neighbourhood, created a fabulous fantasy world for all the season.

“We are very pleased with the woodland garden and very taken with the animal sounds. Our wild woodland has been turned into a child friendly adventure – a truly special and much appreciated donation.”

- Carol Nottman, Administration Manager.

Our special thanks go to the major donors of materials – Bradstone, Oase, Kelkay, Forest Fencing, Dandf, Growcroft, Klondyke, Highland Lilium and Hopetown Nurseries.
