Little Haven Children's Hospice: Hobbit Garden - Benfleet

Having devised a fantasy children's garden for Tatton Park Show, and won a silver medal, David Fountain (of Countryside Properties) was keen to see it well used. The Hobbit Garden had a circular door apparently leading into the earth mound behind it with a path up to it – and a huge carved statue of Gandalf the Wizard guarding its entrance.

The staff at Little Haven were delighted to accept it and Greenfingers were pleased to assist in creating the mound, erecting and building the garden.

Additional donations made by Crawley Turf Supplies, LBF Supplies, Travis Perkins and Bradstone ensured an easy transition.

The garden was opened on Monday, 7th April 2003, by Kim Wilde and Peter Seabrook.
