This was an exciting and different project! The proposal came from a group of nurses and carers who knew exactly what they wanted for their courtyard garden project.
The staff and families at EACH knew they wanted to create a larger, safer and more varied garden for the children and families staying with them. Through a combined effort, two areas were created - Sunflower Cottage became a special sensory play area, whilst the remaining garden was turned into a quiet, reflective area with seating and sheltered places.
All the work was carried out by the team of nurses and careers who had drummed up lots of help from local volunteers. We were delighted to help them and were very impressed with the results – especially the mural painted by Neal Orton – truly Jurassic Park had arrived.
