We were thrilled to welcome a number of celebrities to Little Haven’s hospice in Essex to help put the finishing touches to the Grow Your Own garden we are creating there.
Working with Now Magazine we were lucky enough to have stars from the television and music worlds to help us with planting and painting around the garden in August 2014.
Mark Wright, DJ and star of The Only Way Is Essex was joined by his TOWIE co-stars Fern McCann and Grace Andrews, along with The X Factor’s Sam Callahan, Britain’s Got Talent star Francine Lewis, TV presenter Lizzie Cundy and Dancing on Ice’s Matt Evers who all got their hands dirty painting the ‘Big Top’ in the garden.
Pop sensations Union J were also on hand and got stuck in to planting to create this wonderful sanctuary for the children and families who spend time at Little Haven’s to benefit from.
Mark Wright, speaking to Now Magazine about the day at Little Havens, said: “What a great experience and day we had at Little Havens Hospice working with Greenfingers on the garden project.
You can take so much for granted in your own life but when you visit the hospice and meet the families, children and staff, you’re really inspired by their positivity, despite the often challenging times they’re going through.”
The celebrities had a chance to meet some of the children and families who will enjoy the garden when it is finished. For the celebrities this was a chance to see the real benefits having this outdoor space will offer to the children, and for the children it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the stars!
